This policy explains what data Factplay (“we”, “the site”) collects when you visit factplay.xyz, why, and what control you have over it.
Factplay is operated by Factplay Team, Kerala, India. Contact: contact@factplay.xyz.
What we collect
Automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and analytics record technical information when you visit: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and time of visit. This is used to understand traffic and keep the site working.
When you contact us. If you email us, we hold your address and message so we can reply. We do not add you to any mailing list without your consent.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Factplay uses:
- Essential cookies — required for the site to function.
- Analytics cookies — [Google Analytics / your analytics tool], to measure traffic in aggregate.
- Advertising cookies — set by Google and its partners, described below.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies will not stop ads appearing; it will make them less relevant.
Advertising
Factplay displays advertising through Google AdSense.
Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at www.aboutads.info.
Google’s own privacy practices are described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Third-party vendors, including Google, may also use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits. We do not control these third parties’ data practices and recommend reading their policies directly.
Analytics
We use [Google Analytics / your tool] to understand aggregate traffic patterns — which articles are read, how visitors arrive, and which devices they use. This data is not used to identify individuals. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Legal basis and your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK (GDPR): we process technical data on the basis of legitimate interest in operating and improving the site, and advertising data on the basis of consent collected through our cookie banner. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to object to processing. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
If you are in India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023): you may request access to and correction or erasure of your personal data, nominate another person to exercise your rights, and raise a grievance with us. Contact contact@factplay.xyz.
If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA): you may request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected and request deletion. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined by the CCPA.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@factplay.xyz. We will respond within the period required by the applicable law.
Data retention
Analytics data is retained for 12 months and then deleted or anonymised. Email correspondence is retained for as long as needed to handle the matter and for our records.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers that operate the site — our host, our analytics provider, and our advertising partner — each of which processes data under its own policy.
External links
Factplay links to external sources, including agency releases, filings, and papers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
Security
We use HTTPS across the site and take reasonable measures to protect the data we hold. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top, and significant changes will be noted on the site.
